A preview of Dorie’s new book, adding photos to the Library, events and more
July 18, 2025 by JennyOur beloved Dorie Greenspan’s new book Dorie’s Anytime Cakes will be released on October 21st, 2025! Dorie’s book tour has been added to our Calendar. Be sure to see if Dorie will be in your area. Preorders are very important to authors and publishers so if you are going to order this book do so now. Using our BUY BOOK button will take you to Amazon in your region or contact your local bookstore and have them pre-order it for you.

Dorie shared a recipe and a sneak peek online in her Substack newsletter – be sure you subscribe here. Be sure to click on the orange icon “View the Flipbook and Recipe” shared in the first link above. For those without a subscription, see the Amazon look inside for photos!
I have had the pleasure of reviewing this gorgeous book and we are all in for a treat. When I first learned that the book didn’t have standard photography but contained illustrations, I was disappointed for a few minutes. But after seeing the illustrations, I’m happy as it is absolutely stunning. All bakers need this gem in their collection to whip up foolproof beautiful cakes any time!
Dorie shares her baking wisdom in the Backbone Basics section from measuring sticky ingredients to equipment and ingredient information. The book is organized as follows: Round cakes, Loaf cakes, Bundt cakes, Cakes with corners, Baby cakes, Salty cakes and ends with Frostings, fillings, creams, crunches and extras! Recipes include Double-down chocolate loaf; Pierre Hermé’s lemon cake, the one with olive oil; and A ritzy cookie cake. These days I love making cakes that are easy to put together while still being impressive and Anytime Cakes is the bible for that category.
