Fortnum & Mason Food Awards shortlist announced 2025

Fortnum & Mason has long been a resource for English cookery, providing quality ingredients to generations of cooks since its founding in 1707. The company’s annual food and drink awards celebrate the best publications and broadcasts in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The shortlist for the 2025 award dropped earlier this week.

Those shortlisted books include The English Table: Our Food through the Ages by Jill Norman; Agak Agak: Everyday Recipes from Singapore by Shu Han Lee; The Elements of Baking: Making any Recipe Gluten-free, Dairy-free, Egg-free or Vegan by Katarina Cermelj; Kin – Caribbean Recipes for the Modern Kitchen by Marie Mitchell and The Connaught Bar: Cocktail Recipes and Iconic Creations by Agostino Perrone.

Other books of note include A Woman’s Place is in the Kitchen – A Chef’s Dispatches from Behind the Pass by Sally Abé; Zao Fan Breakfast of China by Michael Zee and The Balkan Kitchen: Recipes and Stories from the Heart of the Balkans by Irina Janakievska. The awards also feature other food-related writing nominees for publications (both in print and online) as well as television programmes.

The winners will be announced on May 1st, 2025 on the Fortnum & Mason website, and of course we will provide an update on the blog. You can see the complete shortlist in our Fortnum & Mason 2025 awards page.
