The Great British Bake Off 2024 begins next week!

Everyone’s favorite baking competition will premiere its 15th season on Channel 4 at 8pm on Tuesday 24th September in the United Kingdom. While official word has not been released, we hope that new season will then air on Netflix in the US on Friday, September 27th. Fingers crossed. Updated: Netflix has announced that the show will air in the US on the 27th of September!

Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding will be back to offer their commentary and comic relief, as another batch of bakers submit themselves to the pressure of the competition. Judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be back to offer their thoughts on this year’s bakers. This season’s trailer can be found here.

The bakers have been identified today and are pictured below. You can find their complete bios on The Great British Bake Off page.

  • Andy, 44, Essex – car mechanic who entered GBBO to make his mother proud
  • Christiaan, 33, London – originally from the Netherlands and studied fashion
  • Dylan, 20, Buckinghamshire – loves to travel
  • Sumayah, 19, Lancashire – dental student
  • Jeff, 67, West Yorkshire – originally from the Bronx
  • John, 37, West Midlands – works for the NHS
  • Illiyin, 31, Norfolk – a qualified midwife, published author
  • Georgie, 34, Carmarthenshire is a nature-loving forager
  • Mike, 29, Wiltshire – was shortlisted for Young Farmer of the Year in 2024 and a 4th generation farmer
  • Gill, 53, Lancashire – is a senior category manager
  • Hazel, 71, Kent – mother, grandmother and serious cake maker
  • Nelly, 44, Dorset – palliative care assistant

      I’m checking with a friend in Canada – I cannot locate anything online with specifics about Canada – except that older seasons are available on CBC Gem App – I will update soon.

      I spoke with my friend in Canada and she states that the show is usually shown there much later. So whatever is the usual timing that will continue.
