Saveur Blog Awards
July 5, 2017 by Jenny
Last week, Darcie wrote “Cookbooks are my Friends“, a lovely article
about what cookbooks mean to her. I’ve written a fair number of
pieces about my love of cookbooks including The Making of a Cookbook Collector, Managing Your Collection to Make it Work for
You and What Makes a Good Cookbook being my
favorites. While I agree with Darcie about the comfort I
derive from a beautiful cookbook – I don’t turn to them for the
same reasons.
Cookbooks to me are a chance to explore the world, experience flavors of other nations and learn about the cultures of those that are so different from myself. Cookbooks, and cooking, are a break from reality – a chance to escape from the world’s troubles and explore the world’s joys.
It should be fairly evident that our team at Eat Your Books loves cookbooks as much as our members do. We strive to bring you cookbook news, promotions and news from the culinary world in a timely manner.
If you enjoy the work we do, please consider nominating our blog for a Saveur Blog Award. You can nominate us (our url is www. eatyourbooks.com/blog) in the Obsessive Single Subject category (no one is more obsessed about cookbooks!) once a day every day until July 19th.
We will let you know when voting on the finalists begin. Be sure to nominate other favorite bloggers as well. As always, we appreciate your support.
