  Yes it does appeal to me and has for awhile now. I think I was a homesteader in a previous life. There is still the family homesteading cabin on Chesser Island.

  Well, more as an experiment, not a life choice. I also was a big fan of Northern Exposure and the thought of living in rural Alaska has always been a romantic notion for me.

  Well, I love to fantasize about homesteading. I have the vegetable garden and the chickens so I've got a pretty good start going.

  No…at my age I like the comforts of urban/suburban life. Now if I was 30 years maybe it would appeal to me.

  We enjoy being able to take care of ourselves by gardening, canning, freezing, fermenting, baking. I cure our own bacon, hams. We make our own sausages.

  It's my husband's dream, and there are aspects of it that I like, but I don't know if I have enough skills to survive full-time on a homestead…

  Only certain parts, I'm afraid. I'd love to be able to get up in the a.m. to the sounds of nature, instead of the city. I'd love to grow and preserve my own food. I'd love to have a pantry stocked of jars of things only I have made. But I think that's as far as I could go.

  I am ABSOLUTELY interested! Especially when I watch Eve & Eivin doing all of this stuff!!! It is SO impressive, inspiring and you make it look so easy! Not sure I could do it, but would love to try!

  I lived in rural Northern California for 12 years, where our nearest Home Depot/McDonalds, etc was 1.5 hours away. That was as close to homesteading as I ever want to get.

  The modern version of it, anyway. We have chickens, guineas, and bees so far, and are learning how to garden in the woods, mostly with fruits, berries, and (hopefully) mushrooms.
