Cookbook giveaway – Dinner Solved

Dinner Solved!Katie Workman, author of The Mom 100 Cookbook, now turns her attention to the biggest problem that every family cook faces: how to make everyone at the table happy without turning into a short-order cook. In Dinner Solved! Katie expands on one of the most popular features of the first cookbook, her ingenious “Fork in the Road” recipe solution, which makes it so easy to turn one dish into two or more. You can learn more about the cookbook in our author Q&A with Katie

I would like them to try different kinds of soups

Seafood/fish. The kids are convinced they hate it even though they refuse to try. Hubby won't admit he likes it but seems to scarf down with delight every time I make.

Something that my picky eaters will be guaranteed to tuck into is pasta bake. Add cheese on anything and bake it, who wouldn't?

  • lauriesk  on  September 9, 2015

I would like my picky eaters to enjoy more vegetarian entrees.

  • sarahcooks  on  September 9, 2015

Food mixed together – stew, soup, casserole, curry, you name it. I just want them to eat something besides plain plain food because I hate plain food!

  • rchesser  on  September 9, 2015

Fish, they won't touch it if they know I'm making it!

  • bching  on  September 10, 2015

Ham. I think it improves the flavor of many bland foods and my daughter won't eat it.

  • sarahawker  on  September 10, 2015

I wish he would try ANY fresh vegetable without complaint. At this point I don't care which, I would fix it every day. But I do make a lot of cauliflower and that would be helpful….

My picky eater needs to learn how to like mushrooms.

  • sgump  on  September 13, 2015

I'm always flummoxed when I prepare a menu for a gathering, only to learn (usually at the last minute) that one of the diners has "gone off carbs" (thus rendering the pasta or the pizza or the bread or the rice or the potatoes or the souffle or the dessert or whatever something this now-picky eater won't eat). I understand medical conditions, of course, but not even *tasting* something that the host has prepared always seems a bit rude to me (when it's solely about preferences, not about dietary restrictions).

I would love for my picky eaters to try more veggies. They only eat corn on the cob and green beans. And that is if I tell them they have to eat them.

I don't have kids, but a boyfriend. I really wish he would eat more vegetables and fruits than he does. Man can not live on hamburger and pizza alone!!!!!

  • nancyjnow  on  September 20, 2015

I wish my picky eaters would eat casseroles. With cheese. Delicious, delicious cheese.

  • rivergait  on  September 20, 2015

"Salad", which seems to include most greens…spinach, kale, bok choy, but especially anything leafy green and raw.

  • bdmltm  on  September 25, 2015

    I'd say casseroles, too.

  • tjnelson1hotmail  on  September 26, 2015

  • Twistie  on  September 30, 2015

I wish my picky husband would eat an animal other than: cows, pigs, chickens, and turkeys. I miss lamb and seafood so darn much!

But really, I wish he would stop responding to any mention of a food he hasn't eaten before with a harrumph of 'I hate that.'

  • lhudson  on  September 30, 2015

My 30 year old son still does not like mushrooms, wish he would get on board with the rest of the family.

I wish my picky husband would try more new foods.

  • auntietina  on  October 4, 2015

My pickiest eater is my Dad: he's living with us again after having some medical issues. I would love for him to eat anything OTHER than meat and potatoes.
(Although I will admit here that the mashed potatoes he loves so much are actually half pureed cauliflower. I checked with his doctor and it turns out his vehement claims that he can't eat it were pure fiction. Score one for the sneaky kid!)

  • bfg67  on  October 5, 2015

    more spicy stuff

  • ballen  on  October 7, 2015

A wider variety of greens and vegetables — beyond the old mainstream standards.
