A new Julia Child documentary is in the works
October 21, 2019 by DarcieLast month we reported that a new Julia Child HBO series was getting close to production. Now we have learned that another Julia Child film project is underway, this time from the team that brought us RBG.

In the upcoming biopic, Betsy West and Julie Cohen, co-directors of the documentary about US Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, “will examine Child’s unconventional life, one that saw her seize the spotlight with the 1961 publication of her best-seller “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” when she was nearly 50 years old.” (This is also a reminder that you are never to old to pursue your dreams.)
Since the film can’t rely on interviews with Child as the RBG documentary did, the producers will utilize the ample footage of the iconic television host that already exists. West and Cohen also promise that food will feature prominently (as it should): “It’s not a movie where people are going to want to go to the theater hungry, ” said Cohen. “We’re going to have food cinematography that’s quite different than anything you’ve ever seen.”
