  Confession – I haven't made a Rose Levy Beranbaum recipe yet. I'm mostly baking/cooking through my cookbooks, as a huge project, so I haven't been doing much in the way of other recipes. I did come across Rose's blog and really enjoyed it, as I was looking for information about the internal temperature of a finished cake. I would love to win this cookbook though!

  My favorite is the open-faced fresh blueberry pie. It's delicious–avoiding the jammy texture of most blueberry pies, and relatively quick and easy, especially compared to most of her recipes.

  Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Torte from The Cake Bible. I've made it countless times, and it's amazing – always blows people away! The Cake Bible was one of the first cookbooks I ever owned, and I've made more recipes from it than any other cookbook I own, including three wedding cakes.

  From The Pie and Pasrty Bible, her recipe for Pecan Pie is the best! Not too sweet, uses golden syrup, has never failed me.

  A number of years ago, when the Cake Bible came out, I worked in a Seattle bookshop and we used to hand-sell that book to just about everyone that cooked. I have loved that book ever since and have made many of the recipes. My favorite stand-by (made for most kid birthdays) is probably the all-American chocolate butter cake with a milk chocolate buttercream. So excited about the new book!

  The open-faced blueberry pie is the freshest tasting blueberry pie ever, since some of the blueberries are not cooked and the rest are cooked to a delicious jam flavored with lemon juice.

  I make a variation on one of the variations in the Pie and Pastry Bible. She has a recipe for Pure Pear Pie, which is a variation of her Best All American Apple Pie. I put brandied currants in it. I put a round of pastry in a beautiful handmade ceramic pie plate (with absolutely beautiful blue and brown glazes on it), fill with the fruit, and then fold the pastry over like a galette so that the beautiful rim of the pie plate shows. I've become famous in my family for this pie.

  The Pumpkin Chiffon Pie has become our standby for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and my husband's birthday. It's the perfect pumpkin-y treat and not too heavy after a festive meal.

  I bought The Cake Bible about 30 years ago when I thought I would have a career as a baking caterer for weddings. That didn't work out. Now widowed (and often cooking for one), this contest got me to relook at that book, and I think I need to make something (albeit a small recipe) JUST FOR ME. I'd love this new book to peruse.

  I have at least four of Rose's books. I would love to add The Baking Bible to my collection. I found The Bostini from Rose's heavenly CAKES to be the recipe to try. The cake, custard and chocolate makes it a keeper!
