Café Cùil Cook Book – Recipes from the Isle of Skye – Giveaway
February 3, 2026 by JennyEnter our US/UK giveaway to win one of two copies of Café Cùil Cook Book: Recipes from the Isle of Skye by Clare Coghill.

Cùil: Scots Gaelic n. Nook, nest or corner
Cafe Cùil faces the sea just outside Carbost on the Isle of Skye. In this stunning setting, award-winning chef Clare Coghill celebrates Highland produce, reimagines traditional Scottish dishes and puts a Hebridean twist on global recipes.
The Cafe Cùil story began when Clare entered the Channel 4 series, My Kitchen Rules with an old friend in 2017. When they won, she started thinking that cooking was more than a hobby. In 2019 she opened the first Cafe Cùil in Hackney which became a hotspot for brunch lovers around London, that is until the Covid lockdown forced a change. Not wanting to be stuck in London with no easy access to fresh produce, she packed up and off to Skye she went.
The new Cafe Cùil opened in 2022 (closes for winter). In November of 2025, the gorgeous cookbook was published. Café Cùil Cook Book: Recipes from the Isle of Skye isn’t a book that demands fancy techniques, instead it demonstrates how easy it can be to cook delicious dishes without taking things too seriously. Clare teaches us to always have sea salt, good quality olive oil and fresh herbs at the ready. With these staples and access to fresh seasonal ingredients, any spectacular dish is possible.
I am a lover of all things from the United Kingdom and this book is a journey to an idyllic location with inspirational recipes and beautiful photography.
This book is also a ckbk title. There are also online recipes for you to try now that were linked from the look inside by publisher, Kitchen Press. For each recipe, you will need to scroll to the proper location.
- Snazzy goreng
- Spiced sweetcorn chowder
- Roasted cauliflower, chickpea and tahini [salad]
- Tattie scone taco, pork shoulder and wild garlic chimichurri
- Goat’s cheese, honey and thyme dip
Order this book — it is an escape when we all really need one. Clare is tentatively planning a trip to the US in April. I will be sharing events when they are finalized.
