Leap Day food deals
February 27, 2024 by DarcieWe have an extra day this month, courtesy of the Gregorian calendar that doesn’t quite keep up with the Earth’s orbit. Whether you enjoy having another day in the year or wish February would be over sooner, you can take advantage of Leap Day by enjoying one of the food deals and discounts offered by companies on February 29.

Krispy Kreme is offering a dozen doughnuts for $2.29 USD with the purchase of a regular-priced dozen. If you happen to have a February 29 birthday, you can get a dozen original glazed doughnuts for free (but you have to show proof). The fast food chain Wendy’s is also serving up a freebie on Leap Day (Cinnabon Pull-Apart), Chipotle Rewards members can get free guacamole, and Dunkin’ rewards members can get a discount when using the mobile app.
Similar to Krispy Kreme, many companies offer deals to those born on the 29th. Milk Bar is offering a free full-sized cake (again, proof of your birthday is required), and Build-A-Bear lets ‘leaplings’ build a Birthday Treat Bear for only $4 USD. You may want to check the social media account for your favorite local coffee shops and restaurants – many of them may also have Leap Day deals that don’t get as much attention as those of the national chains.
