Upgrading ramen

At least here in the United States, most
of us are probably feeling a bit poorer – April 15 was tax date. So
we thought an article about taking a remarkably inexpensive food –
packaged noodles/ramen – and converting them into something special
might just hit the spot. And luckily our friends at Serious Eats
have just the article, Ramen Hacks: 30+
Ways to Upgrade Your Instant Noodles. We liked the advice
about poaching eggs in the broth, but the recipe for using them for
Shepherd’s or Cottage Pie also had a lot of appeal (especially for
those of us with English and Australian/New Zealand
connections).
