To solve an obviously rotten problem, here’s the Kitchn’s take on 10 Top Ways to Use Up Overripe Fruit:
- Quick Bread
- Jam
- Crumble, Cobbler, or Pie
- Smoothie
- Sauce for Pancakes or Sandaes
- Meat Sauce
- Salad Dressing
- Juice
- Fruit Leather
- Popsicles
They offer several recipes suggestions for many of these ideas, but we wanted to see if the EYB library had some clever ideas. Here are three from a few of our indexed blogs that we found intriguing:
Instant Banana Sorbet from Chocolate and Zucchini by Clotilde Dusoulier
Peach Jam with Bourbon and Vanilla from Sassy Radish by Olga Massov
Roasted Strawberry BBQ Sauce from Closet Cooking by Kevin Lynch
Now there’s no excuse for tossing out that fruit! Enjoy!
